I travelled with my husband and 2 kids aged 11 and 16 years and we stayed in a family room at this hotel for 4 nights. Overall it was a great stay and good value for money. You have to bear in mind the 3 stars so it is a bit like a standard US motel but with some great touches such as neon signs, wall murals, ping pong tables, colourful and quirky decor in the rooms and also within the grounds of the hotel which make it more fitting for the trendy Abbott Kinney area! We found the room and the pool a little on the small side, but again L.A. is not cheap so this was acceptable for what we paid compared with nearby hotels. We saw lots of other families staying here so I would say it's a great family-friendly budget option with some cool touches to make it feel more contemporary and design-centric. The main drag of restaurants, boutiques and cafes of Abbott Kinney Boulevard is around a 10 minute walk with a further 15 minute walk to Venice Beach itself. Parking is on site which was convenient but it's chargeable at $22 per night. An excellent option for families who like stylish hotels but are on a budget!

The location of this property was great. So close to Abbott Kinney and its stores and restaurants. During the day I could walk there and a night was a quick and easy Uber ride if I wanted to go out to dinner. The neighbourhood was also really nice by the water (beach and canals). As usual for LA, lots of random type characters lingering about in Venice beach, but overall a good area to stay. This room was huge! Basically the size of a one-bedroom apartment. It was pretty much a suite and I really liked that there was a separate living room & bedroom area. I travelled solo, but so much space for a family or couple. I also liked the mid-century modern design of the room. It was a nice touch and really fit in well with the vibe of the area. Made it feel kind of boho-chic.

We came to the hotel, early in the morning, around 6 am and we knew that check in was in the afternoon but the very friendly lady in the reception found us a room and checked us in, on spot many hours before the ordinary check in time. That is good service! It takes aprox 20 minutes to walk to the Ocean, then another 20 minutes north to the actual Venice Beach and then one more hour walking to Santa Monica Pier, just so you know. A general tip (You all already know this): This is Los Angeles, you need a car. We didn't get one, we were only there for a few days and walked a lot (that's why I'm talking about walking distances ), combined with Uber rides, which is fine for a few days but if you are staying a bit longer, really consider getting a car.

Fun little hotel that stands out from the generic chain hotels. Pretty good location if you're willing to walk a little bit (approx 15 mins to the part of Abbot Kinney with restaurants and shops, approx 20-25 mins to Venice Beach boardwalk). Beds were comfy and facilities were really clean. Close to LAX. We had an early morning flight so I appreciated the quick drive over.

The room was great, I had the king suite and I absolutely loved the decor. There was a small Tv mounted in the room and we needed that! You couldn’t see it in the pictures on the website, so that was a pleasant surprise. Also, the view was the cute little courtyard with hammocks. It was a pretty cute setup.
